ORCHIDS ~ cultivation, research and orchid care ~ with Dr. Jasmine Janes

This talk will cover a little of everything! She will discuss a little about the history of orchid cultivation, some of the current research on native orchids occurring at UNBC, and finish off with how to care for your own.
Dr. Jasmine Janes recently moved to Prince George to take an Associate Professor position at UNBC. Her areas of expertise include botany, ecology and genomics, and occasionally the odd furry thing sneaks in too. Jasmine’s current research program focuses on understanding the speciation patterns in native orchids, and how this affects their relationships with pollinators and fungi.
