Prince George residents who do not have their own garden space can now grow their own fruit and vegetables if they rent a raised bed available May 1st to September 30th at the new Rotary Community Garden.
The Rotary Community Garden is part of the David Douglas Botanical Garden Society Phase 2 project at the University of Northern British Columbia. It is located on the plateau next to the REAPS compound.

In 2024 there were 22 raised garden beds available to rent – 7 large beds of approximately 1.2m x 4.9m (4' x 16') at $55 each, 9 medium beds approximately 1.2m x 3.6m (4' x 12') at $45 each and 6 smaller beds at $25 each. In 2025 there is also one wheelchair accessible raised bed at $10. This bed was designed and built to be inclusive and provide gardening opportunities for people in wheelchairs. 2025-26 David Douglas Botanical Garden Society members get a $10 discount off the fee rental. Please thoroughly read and understand the 2025 Gardener Handbook & Agreement before renting a Rotary Community Garden Rental Bed. There will be a limited number of garden beds available on a first come first served basis. Only one garden bed per household as the garden beds are in great demand.
