HELP US GROW SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL!
Sep 4, 2026
Something new is taking root at Khasdzoon Yusk’ut. In 2027 we are making a new annual cut flower garden that will create a beautiful seasonal showcase of flowers for our community to enjoy.
And we want YOU to help us grow it!
WE’RE LOOKING FOR FLOWER SEEDS
We’re collecting annual flower seeds that are:
• Non-invasive
• Suitable for northern growing conditions
• Able to be direct sown
• Suitable for full sun
• Deer-resistant varieties preferred
• Ideally long-blooming and suitable for cutting
DO YOU HAVE DAHLIA TUBERS TO SHARE?
We’d love to hear about your favourite dahlias and any healthy tubers you may be able to donate to the project.
Please tell us what you have now, but hold onto your dahlia tubers until spring. We’ll provide more information about collecting and coordinating tuber donations when the time comes.
PLEASE LABEL YOUR SEED DONATIONS
All donated seeds must be clearly labelled with the flower type and variety.
Seeds that aren’t suitable for the cut flower garden, or that we receive in excess, will be put to good use through Seedy Saturday or the Seed Library, so your generosity can keep growing throughout our community.
WE’RE ALSO LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS!
Want to get your hands in the soil? We’re looking for people interested in helping plan, develop, plant and maintain the cutting garden.
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or simply want to learn, there’s a place for you.
Want to donate seeds, tell us about your dahlia tubers, volunteer, or learn more?
Email editor@ddbotgarden.bc.ca
Please submit seed donations by November 30.
Dahlia tubers: tell us what you have now, but please hold onto them until spring.
One seed. One tuber. One gardener. One community.
Let’s grow something beautiful together at Khasdzoon Yusk’ut!
